N,N’-dithiodimorpholine (DTDM), also known as 4,4-dimorpholine, white acicular crystal melting point 124-125℃, relative density 1.32-1.38. Soluble in benzene, carbon tetrachloride, slightly soluble in acetone, gasoline, difficult to dissolve in ethanol, ether, insoluble in water. Decompositon by inorganic acids or bases. Non-toxic, fishy smell, stable storage at room temperature. DTDM is an important vulcanization accelerator for rubber. It contains disulfide in its molecules, which can decompose active sulfur at vulcanization temperature. As vulcanizing agent, it has the advantages of safe operation, non spraying frost, no discoloration, no pollution, and good heat and aging resistance. The sulfur in DTDM is the binding sulfur, which can avoid the problem of product spraying due to excessive coordination. In addition, DTDM can decompose morpholine radicals with secondary amines during chemical reactions, which not only have the heat-resistant and anti-oxidation properties of amine anti-aging agents, but also can delay scorchation.
