According to the statistics of China synthetic rubber industry association, the production capacity of main synthetic rubber plant in China increased from 93,000 tons/year in 1978 to 1.33 million tons/year in 2005, and then to 2.82 million tons/year in 2010, with an added capacity of 1.49 million tons/year, with an average annual growth rate of 15.6%, and expanded to 5.18 million tons/year in 2014.

At present, China has the ability to independently research and develop new synthetic rubber products and technologies. The rare earth catalytic system, including butadiene rubber, powder rubber, lithium rubber, new thermoplastic elastomer and isoprene rubber, has realized industrial production by adopting its own technologies.

At present, the main rubber products are environmental protection products, which meet the standards of the eu REACH act. The waste gas generated in the production of butadiene raw materials can be recycled.
